Dibba Al Hisn Run starts on February20

Sharjah 24: Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) opened registration for the Dibba Al Hisn Run, which will be held on Sunday, February 20, as part of its series of community activities to make sports a lifestyle for all ages.
The event targets 300 participants, and participamnts are encouraged to register on http://www.eevents.ae/dibba and registration closes on Friday, February 18th.

His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, stated that Dibba Al Hisn Run confirms the Council’s approach to making sports a culture for all family members, in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and his wife, Her Highness Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, President of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs.

His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami stated that the council takes the initiative to diversify the venues of sports events so that the message spreads, and sheds light on the cities of Sharjah, which are distinguished by their different beautiful features.  

His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami extended thanks to the authorities and institutions that cooperate with SSC in organisation, and affirmed everyone's commitment on prevention measures for COVID-19.

Yasser Omar Al Doukhi, Director of Sports and Community Events Department, said that the event includes two races, the first for a distance of 7km and starts at 7:15 am, and the second race for a distance of 2.7km and starts five minutes after the first. Yasser Omar Al Doukhi explained that the winners of the first places will receive medals that express the cultural identity, including an inscription of Dibba Al Hisn Castle, the UAE flag, and the name of the race in both Arabic and English.

Al Doukhi concluded that the event represents an opportunity for the participants to enjoy the city and the most prominent tourist sites.
