Sharjah 24: The youth handball team at Sharjah Sports Club was crowned champion of the Youth Super Cup, season 2020-2021, for the 12th consecutive time and the 13th in its history, after beating Al Ain Club 23-21, on Monday evening, in the match that was held in the Sharjah Club hall.
With this achievement, the team continued their lead on the Super Cup title with 13 championships out of 19 editions of the competition. They also succeeded in combining the titles of the “Super Cup” and the General League Championship for the third consecutive season.
The winners were crowned by His Excellency Nabil Ashour, Head of the Handball Federation, and the ceremony took place in the presence of His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, His Excellency Ali Salem Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Club, Mohammed Obaid Al Hussan, Member of the Board of Directors of Sharjah Club and Head of the Team Games Department, Dawood Mohammed Al Malih, Member of the Emirates Handball Federation and Head of the Competitions Committee, and Jassim Mohammed, Member of the Department of Team Games at Sharjah Club and Handball Supervisor.
The Chairman of the Sharjah Club, His Excellency Ali Salem Al Midfa, praised the efforts of the Team Games Department headed by Mohammed Obaid Al Hussan, highlighting its continuous support in providing all the tools of success for all the teams, which contributes to preparing the players and supporting the national teams.
Mohamed Obaid Al Hussan, Head of the Team Games Department, expressed his happiness, stressing that the interest in developing the base of players in handball and basketball comes among the department’s priorities.
