Sharjah 24: Maryam Al Hammadi, Director of Intaj Centre of the Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD), confirmed that the centre is working to train and rehabilitate the centre’s members who are beneficiaries of SSSD, in all branches of the department.
Maryam Al Hammadi added that the centre has developed a programme including different training workshops based on the needs of productive families. 3 programmes were implemented during the month of January 2022, which are a “production excursion” in cooperation with Chef International Centre specialised in training and teaching the basics of cooking; the handicrafts programme in cooperation with Al Thameed Ladies Club, and the Accreditation License Privileges Programme in cooperation with the Department of Economic Development in Sharjah. The number of participants in these workshops is 126 participants.

It is worth noting that all programmes are free of charge and are sponsored by a production centre. Participants also obtain certificates approved by the institute or the specialised training centre.

Al Hammadi explained programmes are based on two foundations, the first relates to licensed families and are interested in one of the packages approved by the “Intaj” centre, and the second relates to the new families in the centre who want to learn different skills.

The centre aims to rehabilitate and train the SSSD beneficiaries on home production; provide opportunities to market beneficiaries’ through exhibitions, participations and outlet agreements; improve the level of products to raise their competitiveness, meet the needs of the local market, and offer competitive quality products and services bearing the trademark “Intaj.”
