Sharjah 24: Abdullah Salem bin Huwaiden, Director of the Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD)’s Branch in Al Dhaid, revealed the launch of the Farmers' Festival in its first edition, which is organised by the SSSD in cooperation with the Mleiha Municipality.
This comes with the 50th anniversary of the accession of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
He added that 20 citizen farmers from the Emirate of Sharjah participate in the festival, and the festival is accompanied by many educational workshops for children, with the aim of raising their awareness on how to farm.
He called on members of the public to visit the festival, which continues until January 30, and enjoy the activities and competitions held, wishing everyone success.
