Sharjah24: The Sharjah Age Friendly City office of the Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) has made 14 visits to various institutions in Sharjah, based on the decision of the Sharjah Executive Council, to give senior citizens and people with disabilities priority in providing services to these categories in all the local government agencies and facilities, as well as all the service entities and institutions of all kinds in the Emirate of Sharjah, aiming of facilitating services for these two categories in the federal and local public utilities in Sharjah.
The delegation visited the following departments, including, the Department of Economic Development, the Department of Housing, the Sharjah Education Council, the Sharjah Museums Authority, the Sharjah Health Authority, Sharjah International Airport, and the municipal departments in Sharjah, Al Dhaid, Al Bataeh, and Al Madam , Mleiha, Khorfakkan, Kalba and Al Hamriyah.
Commenting on this, Asma Al Khodari, Director of the Sharjah Age Friendly City office praised the remarkable response of the concerned institutions that were visited, by launching distinctive initiatives or services for senior citizens, highlighting their role towards this segment of society.
Al Khodari stated that the visits will continue for the next two years to include all the institutions, entities and departments, with following up with all the institutions and reviewing their implementation of the Executive Council's decision in this regard.
