Arab Theater publishes "Al-Wajeez in History of Theater"

Sharjah24: The Arab Theater Authority in Sharjah, on the occasion of the Arab Theater Day, has issued a number of important theatrical books, including the book "Al-Wajeez in the History of World Theater", as part of the theatrical culture series "Issue 5", written by the Syrian researcher, writer and director Dr. Hamdi Moussalli, to join the list of theatrical organisation's publications, which exceeded 300 titles.
A summary of the theater and its conditions, from its first inception until the end of the twentieth century, and what prompted the author to prepare this book - as he explains in its introduction - is the urgent need for it to provide it, and to fill the shortage in the Arabic library.

The author classified his book in three parts, which are considered as periods of time according to the following: The first part is about theater in ancient civilizations, and includes before (Dithhuramps) and the emergence of the first beginnings of theater, the origin of drama, as well as the historical roots of theater in ancient civilizations of the East, then the writer gradually speaks, In this part, what he called "the Canaanite, Sumerian and Babylonian theatre" and then touches upon the Pharaonic, Indian, Chinese and Japanese theatre, to go into length after that to talk about the Greek theater and the factors generating the tragedy, the Roman theater and its most important stages, then the medieval theatre.
