Sharjah24: Ismail Abdullah, Secretary-General of the Arab Theatre Institute (ATI), announced that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Authority will postpone the organisation of the 13th session of the Arab Theater Festival in January 2022, stressing the necessity to ensure a better health conditions to hold such a productive event that attract several Arab Cultural figures.
Commenting on this, Ismail Abdullah appreciated the distinguished role of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports in the Kingdom of Morocco, lauding its permanent and comprehensive cooperation and sincere intention to provide the possibilities for holding the session. He has also stressed that the Authority will work to ensure the success of the upcoming session.
As for the national festivals organised by the Arab Theater Authority in nine Arab countries in cooperation with the ministries of culture and union institutions, and after the postponement of these festivals in the year 2021 due to the conditions of the corona pandemic, the Secretary-General stressed that the Authority, in cooperation with the ministries of culture and partner union institutions, hopes to re organise the national festivals in Morocco, Sudan, Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Mauritania, Bahrain and Yemen during 2022, according to health conditions.
The Secretary-General of the Arab Theater Authority also stressed that the Authority, under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, is continuing its strategic work to develop the theatre in the Arab world in all its fields.
