Sharjah 24: The University of Sharjah (UoS), Khorfakkan branch hosted the first tourism forum, "Tourism in the Emirate of Sharjah...Visions and Aspirations," on Monday at the Cloud Lounge, under the patronage of Dr. Hamid Majul Al Nuaimi, Chancellor of UoS, and in the presence of Dr. Rashid Khamis Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Khorfakkan Municipal Council, and a crowd of officials.
The forum's proceedings were attended by Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman, Sharjah Tourism and Commerce Development Authority (STCDA), and representatives from the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority "Shurooq" and the Sharjah Museums Authority.
In his statement to “Sharjah 24”, Dr. Abdullah Sulaiman Al Mughni, Deputy Assistant Rector for Branch Affairs, explained that the forum intends to shed light on the tourist assets of the Emirate of Sharjah, and to identify the opportunities for expansion and prosperity of this key industry.
He added that the forum provided an opportunity for university students and graduates of tourism guidance to become acquainted with the strategies, work systems, and ideas of government institutions and departments working in the field of tourism in order to develop their skills and connect them to the labour market.
