Sharjah24: The Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA) has launched the Al Muntather Reserve Afforestation (AMRA) initiative, which is the 10th initiative, aiming of protecting the desert environment and consolidating environmental culture, amidst the participation of government departments, institutions and bodies. The event included planting 200 seedlings from different types of plants.
Commenting on this, Hayat Al Ali, Head of Programmes and Activities Department at the Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA) in Sharjah confirmed that the Al Muntather Reserve Afforestation initiative is one of the most important awareness and environmental initiatives organised annually by the Authority, in line with the visions and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, aiming to preserve the environment.

Al Ali explained to "Sharjah 24" that the initiative witnessed a turnout from various departments, institutions and volunteers, with the participation of 250 people. She added that 200 seedlings were planted, from different types of trees.

The initiative was attended by Her Excellency Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, Chairperson of the EPAA, His Excellency Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, Saeed Rashid bin Fadel, Director of Al Wusta Channel from Al Dhaid, and Abdullah Sultan bin Saluma Al Ketbi, Director of Al Bataeh Municipality.
