Sharjah24: Fatima Sultan Al Zaabi, Director of the Department of Biodiversity at the Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah, confirmed that today the work of the seventh session of the Sustainable Trees Initiative was completed, and during the current year the mangrove initiative was developed for students of the second cycle of basic education and secondary education students, in addition to the continuation of the sustainable tree initiative.
Today, at the closing ceremony of the initiative, she added, we honoured three winning schools from each stage. An accompanying exhibition was organised to display the works of distinguished schools. About 60 schools from different emirates of the country participated in the initiative, whether public or private schools, which were distinguished by presenting innovative creative activities.
Fatima Al Zaabi pointed out that the Sustainable Trees Initiative was launched by the Sharjah Environment and Protected Areas Authority, as part of its strategy to spread a culture of awareness among the younger generation and school students of the importance of national trees as a national wealth and long-term sustainable trees.
