The ceremony, organised in conjunction with the International Volunteer Day, aims to shed light on the efforts of volunteers in the department and its health-supporting associations, and to emphasise the importance of volunteering and its positive impact on individuals and societies.
Eman Rashid Saif, Director of the Health Education Department at Sharjah's Supreme Council for Family Affairs indicated that volunteer work has become today one of the most important pillars in achieving the renaissance of societies, and an essential pillar for spreading the spirit of social cohesion among members of the society, as it is a human practice that is closely linked to goodness and giving. She added that the Emirate of Sharjah has been keen to consolidate the principles and concepts of volunteering until it has become a pioneering model in humanitarian and charitable work with the generous support of Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi.
