Sharjah 24: The Health Promotion Department (HPD) at the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah organised a session for the youth to promote mental health.
The session, entitled “The Impact of Mental Health on the Individual and Society,” was attended by Eman Rashid Saif, Director of the HPD.

Several doctors such as Dr. Adel Sajwani, a family medicine specialist, Dr. Hassan Galadari, a consultant in dermatology and cosmetology, and Ms. Afra Salem Mubarak, a psychiatrist, presented the session.

The session discussed the concept of mental health among young people, the relationship between the aesthetic image and mental health, and suggestions on ways to raise the awareness to promote mental health and prevent mental illness.

The youth session is an important platform to benefit from the innovative ideas and proposals of young people that support the UAE’s efforts in enhancing the level of mental health of members of society, especially amidst the challenges accompanying the “COVID-19” pandemic.

Iman Rashid stated that the youth session supports the efforts of Sharjah to be the first health city in the region and the world, in line with the directives of the wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah.
