Sharjah 24: Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) has completed a fresh water line project from the city of Khorfakkan to the entire Shees area, with a length of 24 km and a diameter of 300 mm, in addition to 3 water pumping stations, an underground tank and an upper tank, at a total cost of 185 million dirhams. The project implementation lasted more than two years. SEWA started already the line operation and transporting water from the city of Khorfakkan to the city of Shees.
Engineer Ahmed Al Mulla, Director of the Khorfakkan Department at SEWA, explained that the project was implemented in accordance with the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to provide the best services to the residents of Shees, and to provide development projects in the region.

Engineer Ahmed Al Mulla stressed that the project consists of a 24 km and 300m diameter-carbon steel pipeline; in addition, 3 water-pumping stations were established.

Engineer Ahmed Al Mulla added that the project is considered as one of the most necessary and strategic projects, whereas it is a major source of water supply to the Rafisah Dam Resthouse, in addition to the current and future projects along Khorfakkan Road in the city of Shees, such as the Ghazir Resthouse, Shees Resthouse, Shees Market, and others.

Director of the Khorfakkan Department at SEWA said that it is expected that the daily consumption will reach approximately 300,000 gallons.

Engineer Ahmed Al Mulla concluded that the implementation of the project was carried out in accordance with the best specifications following a comprehensive study during which the distance between Khorfakkan Shees and the difference in land levels were taken into account, and SEWA coordinated with all institutions operating on Khorfakkan Road.
