Wael Kfoury, Melhem Zein to rock Sharjah on Dec 17

Sharjah24: Connoisseurs of Lebanese and Arabic music in UAE are in for a rare treat as Sharjah looks to host Wael Kfoury and Melhem Zein, two of the biggest Arab superstars on December 17 in an exceptional evening at Al Majaz Amphitheatre, the Roman colosseum-style open air theatre in the heart of the picturesque Khalid Lagoon.
The rare concert by two of the most loved and followed Arab artists will create memories that will last a lifetime as they regale their legions of fans in the UAE recreating the magic of some of their most popular songs and numbers from a global stage that is one of its kind in the region. 

While the Lebanese icon, Wael Kfoury, looks forward to performing for the first time at Al Majaz Amphitheatre, an initiative of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, Melhem Zein returns to Sharjah with the beautiful memories of his 2018 concert at the same stage that was a hugely popular and sold-out event.   

Flying nightingale
Known as the “King of Romance,” Wael Al-Kfoury is loved and followed across the Arab world for his mellifluous and rich voice and his dozens of chartbuster numbers.  Often performing solo, Kfoury’s voice can traverse the highest levels of musical scale leaving his audiences spellbound. He is famous for his performance of ‘mawwal’ and songs such as “Aghar Alaik”, “Lebanon”, “Believe" and numerous other tracks that have left their mark on the region’s music history.

Composer Shaker Al-Muji called him “The Flying Nightingale” for his first appearance in 1992 in the Art Studio programme for which he won a gold medal.
Wael Al-Kfoury continued his musical journey by releasing a number of hit albums and winning a number of Arab and international awards. He has massive following across all ages. His most recent hits "Kolna Mennager" and "The Strong Girl" have gained more than 42 million views on his YouTube channel.

Al Rais
Melhem Zein, known as Al Rais, burst on the region’s music scene after participating in the “Arab Super Star" contest to discover new talents. He won millions of fans across the region with his resounding voice and distinguished talent, achieving his immense fame and following within a short period of time.
His exceptional talent was discovered for the first time in a school festival for Lebanese song. His father sent him to study music at the Lebanese Institute after he won the first place in the Bekaa Governorate.

Zein has participated in a number of singing competitions, including the "Nojoom Cup", and the "Arab Super Star" programme. He has released a number of albums and songs, many of them have proved chartbusters, including songs such as “Inti Mishti”, “Alwa” and “Ghabi Ya Shams”.

Since its inception, Al Majaz Amphitheatre has hosted legendary Arab and international singers and artists including the Greek musical legend Yanni, the legend of Latin music Julio Iglesias, Arab music icons, Mohammed Abdo and Marcel Khalife, Nawal Al Kuwaitia, Emirati artist Hussein Al Jasmi, and Balqis.

The Amphitheatre has hosted numerous superstars from across the region such Ragheb Alama, Muhammad Assaf, Omar Al-Abdallah, Kuwaiti artist Nabil Shuail, Lebanese icon Najwa Karam, Majed Al-Muhandis from Iraq and many others whose performances have created magical memories for music lovers in the region.
