Iman Turki, Head of Programmes at HPD indicated to “Sharjah 24” that the department celebrated, along with the Elderly Services Centre of the Sharjah Social Services Department, the International Day of Older Persons, with the elderly at the home care department.
She confirmed that the department aims to educate the elderly about the importance of healthy lifestyle by providing pedometers and a number of digital devices that help this group raise awareness and educate them about the importance of healthy living under the slogan "digital equality for all ages."
Turki added that there will be educational meetings for the elderly in the nursing home, and they will be sensitised to the nutritional matters important to their lifestyle, as health nutrition specialists from the HPD will visit them in this regard.
