The double event received a remarkable turnout from the attendees who were introduced to a lot of information about coffee and about the elderly.
Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Musallam, Chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, said on this occasion that throughout history, coffee had a distinguished position in the Emirati society, and this prestigious position is still present today. The same applies to its position in Arab society, and its presence in all civilisations and cultures of the world, which gathers the world cultures.
Al Musallam added that SIH is pleased to participate in the International Day of Older Persons, which is a social and charitable initiative, that constitutes an opportunity to meet different social groups, deepen bonds of relations and enhance social communication, in addition to spreading joy whereas it is a social responsibility that we should all take.
Aisha Obaid Ghabish, Director of the Events and Activities Department at SIH said that the celebration brought together a number of coffee lovers and coffee producers, to provide adequate and simplified explanations about coffee, the country where the coffee is made, how it is roasted and presented, and many important details related to the world of coffee. The event is also an opportunity to meet and extend thanks to the elderly for their noble years of giving.
