Sharjah 24: Her Excellency Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director General of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS), congratulated students with disabilities, their parents, and SCHS workers on the start of the new school year, as well as their return to their classrooms in all departments and branches in accordance with the Ministry of Health and Preveition's directives, as well as the implementation of all necessary preventive measures.
Her Excellency highlighted that SCHS will continue to follow in the footsteps of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in keeping with its pioneering role as the UAE's first institution concerned with persons with disabilities, SCHS will always support knowledge and education.

Her Excellency emphasised SCHS’s strong desire to appoint the best qualified specialists, trainers, and teachers, as well as to make every effort to advocate for and empower people with disabilities in a range of fields.

"SHCS continues to engage with local, Arab, and international institutions to consolidate and strengthen collaboration in order to serve persons with disabilities in accordance with worldwide best practices," Her Excellency added.

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, SCHS has made every effort to sterilise classrooms and buildings in order to receive its students with disabilities, while maintaining the highest levels of security and safety and emphasising to all employees the importance of following the approved preventive measures.

Mona Abdelkarim Al Yafei, SCHS Director, confirmed the continuation of educational services with the development of programs and activities in accordance with the latest practices under Her Excellency the Director General's directives, and added: "The achievements made during the distance learning phase are clear evidence of SCHS's seriousness in its tireless quest to empower, educate and integrate persons with disabilities into society."
