Sharjah 24: The Khorfakkan branch of the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) virtually orgainised on Wednesday, the Peak Hour Forum with the participation of SEWA Chairman Saeed Sultan Al Suwaidi, several SEWA officials and representatives of government departments in Khorfakkan.
The Forum aims to raise awareness of energy consumption rationalisation during the summer.
Engineer Ahmed Mohammed Al Mulla, Director of SEWA-Khorfakkan branch, stressed the importance of the Peak Hour initiative, which falls on July 1, each year.
In an exclusive statement to “Sharjah 24”, Al Mulla explained that the peak hour, from 2:30 to 3:30 PM, reduces the burden on energy generators, adding that the annual initiative is in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
He concluded that several officials participated in the event including Dr. Rashid Khamis Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Municipal Council of Khorfakkan, and Awatif Al Naqbi, Director of Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA) - Khorfakkan branch.
