Sharjah 24: Engineer Abdul Rahman Karam, Director of Emergency Management at the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA), said the authority launched the "Let's Connect them" initiative in collaboration with the Emirate's Department of Social Services with the aim of maintaining the nonstop availability of electricity for elderly people with medical needs and receive treatment in their homes.
The effort will supply alternate mobile generators in the event of routine maintenance or outages, and the authority is planning to expand the initiative's reach to cover the central and eastern regions.

According to Karam, this effort is part of the Emirate of Sharjah's aim to join the worldwide network of age-friendly cities, as the Emirate of Sharjah pays special attention to this group and prioritises providing them with a comfortable living in their homes.
