Sharjah 24: The Mutual Services Department of the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA), in cooperation with the Sharjah Department of Town Planning and Survey (SDTPS), announced the facilitation of procedures and requirements for adjusting electrical loads and some procedures for water tanks for pre-approved industrial project models, with the aim of stimulating the industrial sector and completing transactions in the fastest time.
Mariam Obaid Binhashem, Manager of Mutual Services Department at the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA), explained that coordination has been made with Sharjah Department of Town Planning and Survey (SDTPS) to review of procedures for adjusting electrical loads for pre-approved industrial project models. In order to allow the beneficiaries of pre-approved industrial models to increase electrical loads without the need to submit new schemes, while maintaining the architectural design, provided that an application for approving confirmed loads is submitted only without the presence of backup or future loads, with the exception of the models that were previously approved with future loads.

As for water plans, the beneficiaries of the approved models are allowed to change the type of tank or modify the amount of water without the need to submit a new model, with adherence to the approved regulations and requirements for water and rationalisation of consumption. Along with the adherence to the security and safety requirements set by the competent authorities. The new procedures have been implemented since June 14, 2021.

She pointed out that the approved models for industries do not require the presence of a consultant, but only require the presence of contractors approved by the authority. The contractor is responsible for all the technical extensions of the project in order to avoid the implementation of the project through unqualified contractors, which facilitates the dealers and saves time, effort and cost.

She added that the Mutual Services Department is constantly working on reviewing and updating the procedures and technical requirements for electricity, water and gas requests. This is done in cooperation with representatives of consulting offices, contractors and investors, as part of the Department's efforts for electronic transformation in providing its services to facilitate customers, where requests are received through e-mail [email protected], and the e-mail [email protected] has been designated to respond to any inquiries from customers.
