Sustainability Office at UoS encourages critical thinking

Sharjah 24: In the presence of Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah (UoS), the Sustainability Office at the University organised a brainstorming workshop for heads and members of the sustainability circles.
The workshop aims to review the challenges facing sustainability, encourage critical thinking and exchange opinions, and build trust among members of the circles in order to improve the sustainability performance.

During the workshop, the Chancellor expressed his gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University of Sharjah, for his support of sustainability projects and addressing environmental problems on which the University is working. He also thanked the Sustainability Office and the leaders and members of the sustainability circles for their efforts during the last stage, which he stressed had had a significant impact on the University's progress in the international classifications in the field of sustainability.

Prof. Imad Elseyouf, Director of the Sustainability Office, thanked the University Chancellor for his continuous support for the activities of the Sustainability Office. He also thanked Prof. Maamar Bettayeb, Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies, and leaders and members of the sustainability circles for their efforts, then presented several successful on-campus sustainability projects such as the Solar Charging Station Project for Electric Vehicles, and the Organic Crops Production Project.

At the end of the workshop, the results of the brainstorming sessions were reviewed to raise suggestions and recommendations to senior management for implementation according to priority.
