Sharjah 24: On the International Archives Week, under the theme "Empowering Archives", His Excellency Salah Salem Al Mahmoud, Director General of the Sharjah Documentation and Archives Authority (SDAA), stated that archives are essential for the national identity.
His Excellency stressed that SDAA is taking firm steps to preserve the government and historical archives of the Emirate of Sharjah.
His Excellency continued that SDAA performs its mission and achieves its goals aimed at collecting, preserving and making available the archives of the Emirate of Sharjah, and UAE.
His Excellency added that SDAA is making archives available to the community, thus preserving the Emirate’s gains and enhancing its local, Arab and international presence in the field of documents and archives.
This follows in the footsteps of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in collecting documents and preserving them by various means.
