Sharjah 24: Sharjah Documentation and Archives Authority (SDAA) organised a virtual workshop entitled the "Story of My Sharjah”, held by SDAA staff specialised in the field of history and documentation.
The workshop targeted children and youth who were introduced to the history of the Sharjah, in an interesting and attractive narrative way, highlighting the most important events and achievements of the Emirate. The workshop also tackled Sharjah pioneering and successful role in the region and the world.
SDAA workshop, being attended by 355 students from 50 government schools, discussed the historical stages of Sharjah, before and after the Union. Moreover, the workshop shed light on the cities of Sharjah including Kalba, Khorfakkan, Dibba Al Hisn, Al Hamriya, Dhaid, Wadi Al Hilo, and Abu Musa island ; the emirate’s unique landmarks; underscoring the emirate’s most remarkable achievements at different areas.
In the same context, SDAA introduced children and youth to the correct scientific principles and methods of documentation, in a virtual workshop entitled “We Document with Creativity”. The workshop was attended by 200 students, who were introduced to the concept of paper and electronic documentation, highlighting the objectives of documentation aimed at preserving documents from damage and loss, and the speedy delivery of information to the beneficiaries, whereas documents are the basis for the right decision-making.
The workshop also discussed various types of documents, which included written, pictorial, audio and visual documents.
At the end of the workshop, equipment that would help students in the documentation process were presented, including: photocopiers, storage boxes, storage disks, and others.
