Sharjah24: Dr. Sanjay Gairola, a researcher at the Sharjah Seed Bank & Herbarium (SSBH), which is seed banking native plant species of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has highlighted the remarkable achievements of the bank, shedding light on the SSBH’s most prominent efforts in preserving the plants through reviewing the different techniques and procedures that help to ensure the success of the journey of seeds and to ensure the quality of the seeds.
In an exclusive statement to “Sharjah 24”, Dr. Sanjay Gairola has underscored the importance of the journey of seeds and the seed germination in preserving the plants, shedding light on the significance of collecting the herbarium, stressing on SSBH’s efforts in ensuring the major seed quality characters.
The Sharjah Seed Bank & Herbarium was established with the objective to contribute to the conservation of natural habitats and native plant genetic resources in the region.
