Sharjah 24: His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz Al Musallam, Chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH), focused in his programmed, Shdu Al Huruf, on highlights of Hamad bin Ali Al Madhus Al Marri’s life. The late Emirati poet, Al Madhus is considered one of the pioneers of Nabati (vernacular) poetry.
Al Madhus, whose poetry reflected the wisdom of Bedouins and desert life, was born in Al Dhafra in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in 1925.
He reverberated in his poems the atmospheres of falconry and lanners’ training, in addition to other lively scenes of Bedouin’s life.
Al Musallam also recited some of the poet’s most celebrated poems and shed lights on Al Madhus’s personal life reflected in his poems.
