The students began their programme by familiarising themselves with the university campus, completing academic procedures, and reviewing the programmes and courses they will study throughout the year. This will prepare them to take part in a practical learning experience spanning classrooms, laboratories, and coastal sites, allowing them to conduct experiments and practical studies and apply theoretical knowledge in marine environments.
The programme offers students the opportunity to learn advanced approaches to education and scientific research, broaden their expertise in marine sciences, the environment and sustainability, and to benefit from the academic and practical resources available at the University of Exeter.
The academic year in Exeter marks the final stage of the students’ academic pathway. Upon completing the graduation requirements, they will receive two university degrees in marine sciences from the University of Khorfakkan and the University of Exeter, combining academic training in the UAE with specialised international study.
The initiative is part of the University of Khorfakkan’s approach to providing students with high-quality educational opportunities and to preparing specialised graduates with scientific knowledge and field experience, enabling them to contribute to marine sciences, scientific research and marine sustainability.
