Leadership highlights Sharjah's vision for youth development

During the closing ceremony, His Excellency Hamad Ali Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Chairman of SEDD and Member of the Executive Council of Sharjah, honoured the young participants and reviewed their final projects. He emphasised that the programme reflects Sharjah’s overarching vision as a nurturing incubator for youth talent, operating under the guidance and patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

Programme strengthens financial, entrepreneurial and professional skills

Designed to achieve several core strategic objectives, the program focused on developing practical financial planning, personal budgeting, and key entrepreneurial skills. Beyond theoretical concepts, participants were introduced to SEDD’s daily operations and various internal divisions, giving them direct insight into institutional mechanisms and how the department supports the emirate's broader business environment. The experience also focused heavily on soft skills, sharpening their communication, public speaking, and teamwork capabilities.

"Merchants' Sikka" showcases young entrepreneurs' projects

The programme culminated in a practical mini-market titled "Merchants' Sikka," where participants showcased the business concepts they developed throughout the course. This hands-on showcase allowed the young entrepreneurs to apply their newly acquired skills in an active market setting. Evaluators judged the projects based on specific criteria—including innovation, presentation quality, and team collaboration—fostering a spirit of healthy competition while reinforcing core economic principles through direct application.

SEDD reaffirms commitment to investing in future generations

Following the event, SEDD reaffirmed that organising such initiatives stems from a firm belief in the importance of investing in human capital. The department highlighted that developing young talent directly aligns with Sharjah’s aspirations for a sustainable, knowledge-driven economy. Commending the impressive level of engagement from the participants, SEDD pledged to continue launching impactful, qualitative programmes to build an empowered and capable generation.
