Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD), in cooperation with the Sharjah Judiciary and the Sharjah Public Prosecution, organised a specialised dialogue session titled Power of Attorney (POA) as part of its efforts to enhance legal awareness among employees and reinforce institutional work based on knowledge and compliance.

Key legal aspects and core objectives

The session aimed to clarify the concept of legal POA and its provisions, while reviewing the key legal aspects related to it, including the different types of POA, conditions for validity, limits of authority granted to an agent, and circumstances that require the termination of an POA and its legal implications.

Practical applications and institutional excellence

Presented by Counsellor Dr Abdullah Abdulrahman Al Ali, Assistant Head of the Public Prosecution, and Dr Suhail Ali Saeed Al Naqbi, Director of the Notary Public, Attestations and Documentation Department at the Judiciary, the session featured practical applications and real-life examples that helped simplify legal concepts and strengthen employees’ understanding. This contributes to improving institutional performance and reducing potential legal risks.

The session also included an open discussion and Q&A segment, during which participants’ questions were addressed and several practical cases were explained, enriching the dialogue and deepening legal understanding among attendees.

Strengthening legal literacy and strategic partnerships

The department emphasised that the session forms part of a broader series of awareness initiatives aimed at strengthening employees’ legal literacy and familiarising them with legislative aspects related to their work, thereby supporting a more efficient and compliant work environment.

SEDD also highlighted its continued commitment to strengthening partnerships with judicial and legal entities to promote legal knowledge and exchange expertise, in line with government efforts to develop human capital and achieve institutional excellence.
