Attended by senior officials and faculty members, the ceremony highlighted the importance of linking academic research with practical economic applications to support Sharjah’s sustainable development goals.
The initiative is part of ongoing research cooperation between the Department and the University of Sharjah aimed at integrating academic knowledge with real-world economic needs. It supports efforts to enhance the competitiveness of Sharjah’s economy and develop a knowledge-based business environment.
Abdul Aziz Omar Al Midfa, Deputy Director of Government Communication Department at SEDD, reaffirmed the Department’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with academic institutions by investing in young talent and promoting applied research that supports economic development. Dr Amr Saleh noted that the decade-long programme has engaged students in key studies related to investor satisfaction, investment priorities, and quality of life in Sharjah.
The Department praised the students’ efforts, emphasising that such initiatives help prepare future professionals capable of contributing to a sustainable, innovation-driven economy, while reinforcing Sharjah’s position as a leading knowledge-based investment hub.
