Sharjah Police discusses enhancing security at border crossings

Sharjah24: Sharjah Police received members of the Regulatory Committee for Border Crossings and Entry Points during a coordination meeting held at its headquarters as part of efforts to strengthening institutional integration among relevant government entities.

The meeting was attended by Brigadier Ibrahim Musabah Al Ajel, Director General of the General Department of Comprehensive Police Stations; Brigadier Abdulaziz Sarhan Al Zaabi, Director of the Sharjah Land Ports Department; Mohammed Ibrahim Al Raisi, Director of Border Crossings and Entry Points Affairs at the Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority; Colonel Dr Waleed Khamis Al Yamahi, Director of the Eastern Region Police Department; Colonel Matar Al Ketbi, Director of the Ports and Airports Department; Lieutenant Colonel Staff Mohammed Saeed Al Affari, Commander of the Northern Sector at the National Guard Command, as well as representatives from the General Directorate of Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security, police station chiefs, and a number of specialists from relevant entities.

Reviewing development initiatives

The meeting reviewed a number of initiatives and development projects aimed at enhancing operations at border crossings and entry points and strengthening integration among the concerned entities. The meeting members aimed to support operational efficiency, reinforce institutional readiness, and ensure the sustainability of joint work in line with best practices.

Strengthening cooperation and knowledge exchange

The meeting's members also discussed ways to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise and knowledge, contributing to unified efforts, improved coordination efficiency, and higher standards of performance and services. These initiatives support the UAE’s vision of building an integrated, flexible, and future-ready security system.

Commitment to continuous development

At the end of the meeting, participants affirmed that the border crossings and entry points system represents an advanced model of integration and joint cooperation between local and federal government entities. They highlighted the importance of building on existing achievements and continuing to develop operational frameworks to further enhance efficiency and support the UAE’s aspirations for a leading, future-focused security system that keeps pace with sustainable development requirements.
