Sharjah24: The Organising Committee of the Badminton World Cup held its fourth meeting at the headquarters of the Sharjah Sports Council, reviewing comprehensive preparations for the international championship scheduled to take place in Khorfakkan from 11 to 14 December, featuring top international teams from around the world.

Chaired by Abdulmalik Mohammed Jani, Chairman of the Organising Committee, the meeting discussed final arrangements for the championship venue at Khorfakkan Beach, the promotional plan for the tournament, and the details of the opening ceremony, which will blend elements of spectacle, entertainment, and Emirati heritage that reflect the emirate’s welcoming spirit.

The meeting was attended by Her Excellency Noura Al Jassmi, President of the UAE Badminton Federation and Vice-Chair of the Committee; Bakheet Saeed Al Disk, Tournament Director; and members of the Organising Committee.

Sharjah’s first edition promises excellence

Abdulmalik Jani emphasised that preparations are proceeding as planned, noting that the robust organisational framework suggests a successful inaugural edition of the championship in Sharjah.

He emphasised that the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council, provides a strong motivation to organise an exceptional international sporting event.

Jani confirmed that the tournament will further enhance the UAE’s esteemed reputation for organising world-class championships and major international events.
