Sharjah team wins 4 medals at Abu Dhabi Paddling Championship

Sharjah 24: The Sharjah International Marine Sports Club team won four medals at the Abu Dhabi International Stand-Up Paddling Championship, which took place at Corniche Beach from October 29 to November 2, 2025. The competition attracted a large international contingent, with over 1,500 participants representing 28 countries.

The Sharjah team, which consisted of six players, delivered an outstanding performance, finishing sixth in the group race following heated competition that revealed the team's advanced talents and high level of preparation.

Hassan Ismail Al Hosani earned the first gold medal in the 100-metre sprint for the under-14 category, while Rashed Al Askar won the second gold in the 3-kilometre long-distance race for under-15s. Zayed Al Naqbi and Humaid Ismail added to their score with silver and bronze medals in the same race and category.

International recognition

Representatives from the International and African Canoe Federations, as well as the UAE Canoe Federation, praised the squad and its coaching staff for their outstanding performance and professionalism during the event.

This successful participation is consistent with the club's strategic plan and the directives of its Board of Directors, which aim to advance marine sports, increase international competitiveness, and represent the Emirate of Sharjah with distinction, all while contributing to the growth of modern and promising disciplines such as rowing and canoe kayaking in their various Olympic forms.
