Sharjah 24: In celebration of Flag Day, which falls on November 3rd each year, and in line with its community role in fostering a spirit of belonging and national loyalty, the Dibba Al Hisn City Council, part of the Department of Districts Affairs, launched a national initiative entitled "Our Flag is Precious." This initiative involved distributing UAE flags to residents at the council headquarters, reflecting the atmosphere of pride and patriotism that pervades the nation as this cherished occasion and upcoming national celebrations approach.

The initiative was part of a series of activities and events implemented by the council to strengthen national identity and reinforce the values of unity and belonging. The council headquarters witnessed a large turnout of citizens and families participating in the event, receiving the flags, and raising them in their homes and businesses, expressing their pride in the Union flag that unites the people of the nation under the wise leadership.

Participants expressed their delight at this initiative, which embodies the spirit of unity and belonging to the beloved nation. They affirmed that the UAE flag will always remain a symbol of pride, dignity, and unity under the leadership of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and his brothers, the Rulers of the Emirates.

Dr. Salah Obaid Al Ghoul, Chairman of the Dibba Al Hisn City Council, emphasized that the "Our Flag is Precious" initiative comes in response to the directives of the wise leadership and in celebration of Flag Day, which represents a symbol of sovereignty, unity, and loyalty. He noted that the council, through these community initiatives, is keen to strengthen communication with residents and solidify a culture of national participation that reflects authentic Emirati values.

In a statement, Dr. Al Ghoul said: "Flag Day is a noble national occasion on which we renew our pledge of loyalty and belonging to the nation and its leadership. Through it, we reaffirm the spirit of cohesion that characterizes Emirati society. This initiative also represents a message of appreciation and gratitude to all who have contributed to the advancement and prosperity of the nation. We call upon everyone to raise the flag with pride so that it may continue to fly high in the sky of glory and honor."

He added that the council continues to implement quality initiatives throughout the year that serve the community and keep pace with national events, in the belief of its role in supporting the developmental and community goals sought by the Department of Districts Affairs, and promoting a spirit of positive participation among the various segments of society.
