SBA readies for Sharjah Book Fair Coverage

Sharjah24: The Sharjah Broadcasting Authority (SBA) has announced its readiness to provide extensive and innovative coverage of the 44th Sharjah International Book Fair, taking place from 5 to 16 November 2025. The authority will roll out a dedicated programming schedule across all its TV and radio channels, in addition to operating a modern exhibition stand featuring live broadcast studios and interactive spaces for visitors.
Mohammed Khalaf: We aim to make our coverage more comprehensive and innovative
His Excellency Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director-General of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, stated that the authority’s broad participation in the Sharjah International Book Fair reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to make culture a vital part of daily life and a foundation for intellectual and social development. He added that SBA’s television, radio, and digital coverage embodies its commitment to supporting the cultural movement and conveying the fair’s messages to the widest possible local, Arab, and global audiences.

He emphasised that with every participation, the authority strives to make its coverage more comprehensive and innovative through diverse content and advanced broadcasting technologies, reflecting Sharjah’s status as a true capital of Arab culture and a global destination for books.

Sharjah TV: Coverage of every detail
Sharjah TV will broadcast the fair’s opening ceremony live, followed by a daily line-up including the morning show Sabah Al Sharjah live from the venue, and the evening show Sa’at Kitab (Book Hour), which highlights new releases and features interviews with authors and guests. Other programmes include Our Children and the Book, dedicated to young readers, and A Book from the Fair. In addition, the channel will host renowned thinkers and creatives on its shows Sharjah Guest and Thought and Pen.

News Centre: Comprehensive reports and live updates
The SBA News Centre will prepare a special file for the Sharjah International Book Fair, producing daily reports, live segments, and interviews with guests, publishers, and authors. It will also cover key cultural events through its news bulletins, highlighting the fair’s global cultural role and reinforcing Sharjah’s position as a capital of culture and knowledge.

Al Wusta TV: In-depth coverage of all events
Al Wusta TV from Al Dhaid will present a live programme titled From the Fair at 6 pm, showcasing daily activities, key speakers, and authors. The channel will also feature expanded coverage through its morning show Al Wusta Diaries and evening show Suwalif Masian, including on-site reports and special guest interviews. The channel’s digital media teams will provide real-time coverage via online platforms.

Al Sharqiya TV from Kalba: Daily coverage of the global cultural event
Al Sharqiya TV from Kalba will offer daily coverage through Sabah Al Sharqiya, broadcast live from 11 am to 12 noon, the evening show Huna Kitab (Here’s a Book) from 7 to 8 pm, and Books and Authors at 6 pm throughout the fair. The channel will spotlight the fair’s activities and feature interviews with writers, organisers, and visitors, while its digital media platforms will provide daily social media coverage.

Sharjah Sports TV: Spotlight on sports and culture
Sharjah Sports TV will deliver special coverage from the fairground through its shows From the Emirates and Our Stadiums, complemented by field reports exploring the cultural dimension of sports. The channel will also host prominent writers, critics, and sports journalists to discuss the intersection of culture and athletics.

Sharjah Radio: Interactive events and daily engagement
In a lively and competitive spirit, Sharjah Radio will launch a special version of its popular morning segment Before the Line-up during the fair. The initiative will debut on Saturday, 8 November, with presenters Jamal Al Sumait, Aisha Al Hammoudi, and Hazza Al Shehi leading interactive activities for children, including quizzes, games, and valuable prizes. The radio will also broadcast daily shows such as Between You and the Book in the mornings and The Best Companion at weekends, while Youth and the Book, presented every Saturday by young hosts, will feature two initiatives: Read with the Youth and a discussion session titled A Generation Writing the Future, both including competitions and audience prizes.

Qur’an Radio and TV: timeless recitations initiative
Sharjah Qur’an Radio and TV will present Timeless Recitations, a unique interactive feature reviving rare and classic Qur’anic recordings that form part of the region’s auditory heritage. Visitors can listen to and watch archival performances by renowned reciters from across the Islamic world.

Pulse 95 Radio: Over 49 hours of live coverage
Pulse 95 Radio will provide more than 49 hours of live English-language coverage through three shows broadcast directly from the fair: Espresso Hour (Monday–Thursday, 10–11 am), Pulse 95 Live from Sharjah International Book Fair (daily except Friday, 12–2 pm, with hosts Louise Denham and Hani Balqees), and Drive to the Book Fair (Friday–Sunday, 5–6 pm, hosted by Mikail Atiyeh). The station has also produced over 35 promotional segments and will deliver extensive digital coverage across all platforms.

Maraya Platform: A creative space for culture and fun
Maraya Platform joins this year’s edition with a vibrant and interactive pavilion blending culture and entertainment. Visitors can enjoy themed photo corners for adults and children, meet beloved cartoon characters, and enjoy popcorn in a family-friendly atmosphere. The platform will also showcase its latest media productions on an interactive screen, reflecting its dedication to offering engaging, culturally rooted content.

Digital Media Department: Full online coverage
The SBA Digital Media Department will ensure continuous coverage of the fair’s events across its digital platforms, featuring main sessions, workshops, author interviews, and book signings. Through interactive and visual content, it aims to highlight key moments and expand the fair’s reach both locally and globally.

Modern pavilion supports ‘Pain and Hope’ initiative
SBA has designed a modern pavilion equipped with live broadcast studios and interactive corners, including a Claro Coffee station donating a portion of its proceeds to support patients featured in the charity programme Pain and Hope.
