Sharjah Govt. Employees Club organises blitz chess championship

Sharjah 24: Mohammed Salem Al Qaseer, board member of the Sharjah Government Employees Club, said the blitz chess championship at the House of Wisdom in Sharjah aims to instil creativity and mental discipline, while developing rapid thinking and decision-making skills among employees.

He added that the event is part of a series of sports, cultural, and social activities organised throughout the year by the club to improve quality of work life and strengthen institutional loyalty among government employees.

The Sharjah Government Employees Club organised the championship in collaboration with the Sharjah Cultural Chess Club and the Chess and Culture Club for Sharjah Women. The event featured 80 participants from various government and private entities.

The championship followed a blitz chess format, known for its fast pace and precise thinking, and included seven consecutive rounds in which participants competed to achieve the highest scores in an atmosphere of enthusiasm and fair competition.
