Sharjah24: Sharjah Police took part in the Sir Bu Nair Festival – Silver Jubilee, showcasing a number of community initiatives that reflect their operational readiness in serving both security and community needs. The participation ran from 16 to 25 October at Al Heera Beach, attracting significant public interest and strong engagement from visitors with the technological and educational community displays. Festival activities on Sir Bu Nair Island itself are scheduled from 22 to 25 October.

Innovative exhibits

Sharjah Police’s beach platform featured drones used as aerial patrols to secure Sir Bu Nair Island, alongside a virtual reality “metaverse” display allowing visitors to explore the island digitally. Products made by inmates at the Penal and Correctional Institution, with a focus on marine environmental initiatives, were also exhibited to highlight their creative skills and support rehabilitation and empowerment programmes that aid positive reintegration into society.

Interactive public engagement

The police provided interactive experiences for the public through on-stage activities, including educational lectures to raise security and community awareness, first aid workshops to prepare visitors for emergency situations, and children’s entertainment competitions. Souvenirs were distributed in a family-friendly and engaging environment, strengthening positive relationships between the police and the community.
