The Bu‘ud platform is an advanced innovation designed to monitor government projects and facilities remotely and detect faults proactively and intelligently, without the need for maintenance requests. It uses advanced sensor systems and data analytics powered by artificial intelligence, enabling maintenance teams to respond swiftly and ensure the sustainability of government facilities.
His Excellency Engineer Ali bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the Sharjah Department of Public Works (SDPW), emphasised that the platform aligns with the Sharjah Government’s vision for transitioning to smart digital services. He noted that it represents an important step in enhancing operational and maintenance efficiency and achieving the highest levels of government service quality.
Engineer Maryam Taqi, Director of the IT Centre at the Department, explained that the platform was developed in-house by specialised teams to serve as a digital tool for monitoring performance indicators and issuing instant alerts when any malfunction is detected. This supports effective proactive maintenance and minimises service interruptions.
Engineer Hadef Al Khadr, Director of the Building Maintenance Division, added that the system will enable maintenance teams to monitor the condition of government buildings and facilities accurately, improve response times to faults, and ensure the safety and comfort of users.
The SDPW’s participation in the Sharjah Government pavilion at GITEX 2025 reflects the Emirate’s efforts to showcase its technological achievements and smart initiatives. It highlights Sharjah’s experience in leveraging modern digital solutions to strengthen sustainable infrastructure and allows visitors to explore advanced technologies used in monitoring and maintaining government buildings, reflecting the Emirate’s vision for excellence and innovation in smart government services.
