Sharjah 24: The Institutional Excellence Award (Tamayuz) has announced the launch of its second-cycle guide during an extensive workshop attended by excellence teams from participating entities.

This step reflects the award’s commitment to embedding a culture of institutional excellence and promoting positive competition among organisations, contributing to the development of both institutional and professional performance.

The workshop provided a comprehensive explanation of the updated guide, highlighting the key changes to evaluation criteria and participation mechanisms for the second cycle. This update responds to the continuous development needs and aligns with global best practices, ensuring participating institutions a more efficient work environment capable of adapting to future challenges. Over 50 employees from various institutions attended the workshop, reflecting the strong engagement and interest in the award’s mission and its role in fostering a culture of excellence.

Strategic objectives and focus areas

The launch of the second-cycle guide represents a strategic step toward achieving the award’s main objectives, including enhancing institutional efficiency, developing services, boosting employee and customer satisfaction, and building qualified human capital equipped to meet future needs.

The guide highlights key focus areas such as governance, digital transformation, environmental and community practices, alongside categories of professional excellence that reflect the vital role of human resources in supporting institutional development.

Award categories and evaluation updates

Tamayuz consists of two main tracks: institutional excellence and professional excellence. On the institutional side, the award continues to recognise the best entity in governance implementation, as well as organisations that demonstrate best practices across diverse areas such as digital transformation and environmental sustainability. It also honours the top performers in customer and employee satisfaction, including results from mystery shopping assessments. On the professional side, the award recognises outstanding employees across five categories: supervisory, administrative, specialised, innovative, and new employees.

The award has also refined its evaluation system, introducing specific assessment frameworks tailored to each category. The workshop served as a knowledge-sharing platform for excellence teams across different entities, discussing successful institutional practices and mechanisms for broader implementation. Participants also explored updated measurement and evaluation tools designed to ensure credibility and enhance future development opportunities. Attendees engaged positively with the detailed explanations, reflecting the entities’ commitment to elevating institutional performance according to the highest standards.

Official statements

His Excellency Hassan Yaqoub Al Mansouri, Director of the Tamayuz Institutional Excellence Award, said: "The launch of the second-cycle guide continues the award’s mission of supporting institutional performance development. It provides a practical reference that enables institutions to adopt clear, updated standards reflecting global best practices. This cycle emphasises that the award is not merely a recognition framework but a tool to consolidate sound governance, encourage innovation, and support institutional sustainability. The updated guide empowers entities to enhance efficiency, improve service quality, and boost employee and customer satisfaction, making the award a practical platform to address challenges and create new development opportunities."

Mona Al Ghawi, General Coordinator of the Tamayuz Award, added: "The updated guide reflects qualitative transformations in evaluation criteria. The workshop accompanying its launch provided a key platform for excellence teams to deeply understand and effectively apply these requirements. The second cycle sends a message beyond competition for awards, aiming to foster a sustainable development culture within institutions and highlight excellence as a long-term commitment to serving society."
