Since its launch, the campaign has introduced a number of innovative initiatives and programmes, including the podcast "Learning Pulse," a new digital awareness platform addressing learning difficulties and ADHD by hosting specialists, educators, and parents. The podcast highlights the daily challenges of students with learning difficulties and offers practical solutions. The campaign team also participated in the International Government Communication Forum, contributing to a dedicated session on supporting the quality of life of children with learning difficulties, alongside organising interactive workshops at the International Government Communication Forum.
To strengthen institutional and community engagement, the centre organised field visits to several colleges, schools, and government institutions across the UAE. These visits facilitated knowledge exchange and awareness workshops aimed at enhancing teachers’ and educational staff’s capacity to support students with learning difficulties and ADHD. Meetings with parents were also conducted to introduce available support methods and strengthen partnerships with educational institutions, ensuring a stimulating and supportive learning environment.
As part of the campaign, the centre launched the "Learning Difficulties Characters" initiative, featuring three innovative digital characters inspired by stories of students with learning difficulties. Each character represents a different type of learning challenge, simplifying the concepts and helping the community understand the distinctions between categories. This initiative raises public awareness of learning difficulties, highlights the unique traits of each category, and emphasises perseverance and adaptability in daily challenges.
Dr Hanadi Obaid Al Suwaidi, Director of the Sharjah Center for Learning Difficulties, stated that the campaign continues to achieve its strategic objectives of raising public awareness about learning difficulties and ADHD, and empowering all community segments to support affected students. She noted the widespread engagement from educational institutions, parents, and relevant authorities since the campaign’s launch, underlining its importance in equipping teachers and parents with knowledge and tools to support students and promote their active inclusion in education and society.
Dr Al Suwaidi emphasised that the centre prioritised diversity and innovation in campaign programmes through digital knowledge platforms, educational storytelling, field visits, workshops, and interactive sessions. The campaign will continue its activities, with October focusing on ADHD awareness through intensive field activities, including illuminating the “Manuscript Monument” at House of Wisdom in orange and installing awareness displays in prominent locations across the emirate.
The campaign seeks to foster empowerment rather than traditional care by involving all community segments in creating an inclusive educational environment that supports students with learning difficulties, helping them become productive and influential contributors to national development. Its integrated approach includes intensive field visits to educational and government institutions across the UAE, training workshops for educational staff, and guidance sessions for parents, using innovative awareness tools such as the "Learning Difficulties Simulation Lab" and the "Comprehensive Guide to Learning Difficulties and ADHD Services."
The campaign benefits from active strategic partnerships with government and community entities, including the Sharjah Private Education Authority, the Sharjah Social Services Department, and Sharjah Education Academy, alongside primary support from campaign sponsors: Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sharjah Cooperative Society, the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, Sharjah Media City (Shams), and Dragon Oil Company.
