The gathering served as both an evaluation and celebration of the students’ progress within the ongoing project through which the SWS manages physical education classes in both schools under the supervision of its specialised trainers. This initiative aligns with SWS's vision to make sports an integral part of the educational process. It aims to strengthen specialized sports in schools while developing the physical, psychological, and social aspects of students through training programs that build a sustainable sports culture.
The students took part in interactive workshops covering various sports, including archery, fencing, judo, taekwondo, athletics, and table tennis, under the supervision of expert coaches and technical teams from the Foundation. The day also featured practical exercises and guidance sessions introducing students to the fundamentals of each sport and its importance in character building and self-discipline.
Hanan Al Mahmoud, Vice Chairperson of Sharjah Women Sports, stated: “This project represents a practical model of our vision to transform school sports into a comprehensive development environment. Our goal is to make every sports class an inspiring experience that nurtures personality and fosters sports as a lifestyle. We believe investing in this age group is the foundation for building a confident, athletic generation that represents the future of women’s sports in Sharjah.”
Al Yazia Al Suwaidi, Head of the Preparation and Technical Follow-up Division at SWS, added: “This gathering stands out for its stronger focus on applied skills. We observed clear improvement in students’ understanding and technical performance. Our approach combines technical and educational aspects in a supportive environment that enhances their appreciation of sports values and makes it a core part of their learning experience.”
This project marks another step in SWS’s efforts to instill a culture of professional sports practice from early school stages, aiming to build a confident generation of young women ready to take on competitive challenges with skill and determination. The initiative reflects the Foundation’s vision of integrating education with sports and strengthening the link between schools and the athletic community, paving the way for promising talents who will shape the future of women’s sports in Sharjah.
