Milojevic acknowledged the challenge of the fixture, which will take place at Al Wasl Stadium in Zabeel, noting that playing away from home always brings additional pressure and unique challenges.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, he stated: "We face a difficult match against a strong opponent on their home ground. But we must fight for every point, especially as our league campaign has not started the way we had hoped."
Addressing the issue of injuries and player availability, the coach said that some players may return to action, depending on the outcome of the final training session. He stressed that the team is not using injuries as an excuse.
"We have a good group of players who gained valuable experience last season and have high quality. Of course, missing key players limits our options, but what matters is finding solutions, not looking for excuses," Milojevic added.
Reflecting on the personal significance of facing Al Wasl, Milojevic said,
"This will be my first match against Al Wasl, and it's definitely a special occasion for me. But the match is not about Milos versus Al Wasl — it’s Sharjah versus Al Wasl. I have fond memories there, but we’ve each moved on. My full focus is on giving everything for my current team and helping us reach our top level in this match."
Tunisian international Firas Ben Larbi also spoke at the press conference, addressing the team’s mindset after their recent loss to Ajman.
"After the Ajman defeat, we came together as players and had an open discussion. We committed to doing everything possible to get the team back on track," he said.
Ben Larbi acknowledged the difficulty of the upcoming game, stating:
"We’re facing a strong and well-organised team, but we are determined to deliver a strong performance. We hope the Al Wasl match will be the moment we truly bounce back."
