Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Department of Human Resources (SDHR) organised a specialised workshop titled Empowering Branch Managers on Wednesday morning, September 17, 2025. The event took place in Al Dana Hall at the Oceanic Hotel in Khor Fakkan, in the presence of Majid Hamad Al Marri, Director of SDHR.

Supporting Sharjah’s executive council strategy

The workshop comes as part of the administrative development framework adopted by the Sharjah Executive Council, aimed at empowering branch managers and granting them the necessary authority to enhance institutional efficiency, improve service quality, and raise customer satisfaction through a swift response to their needs.

This initiative falls under a broader administrative development program that includes training workshops for branch managers and employees across various government entities. Its outcomes are designed to enable branches to provide services directly in every city, enhance the capacity for immediate response to customer needs, improve performance quality, and meet the requirements of residents in cities and regions, thereby raising the level of satisfaction among both citizens and residents.

Workshop focus areas

The session was delivered by Brigadier General Dr Tareq Jassim Al Midfa, Government Development Advisor at the General Secretariat of the Sharjah Executive Council. He addressed several key themes, including mechanisms for administrative empowerment in line with legislation and regulations and the preparation of operational plans tailored to the needs of each city and region, as well as a review of periodic report models that measure achievement levels and assess the impact of empowerment on service quality and customer satisfaction.

Future development plans

In addition, the workshop presented future development plans aimed at reinforcing the sustainability and success of the initiative across the emirate.

Participants’ positive interaction

The workshop witnessed strong engagement from branch managers across Sharjah’s government departments and authorities. They affirmed that the initiative represents a significant step in strengthening institutional efficiency, contributing to Sharjah’s ambitions for leadership and government excellence.

Al Zaabi’s statement

Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, member of Sharjah Executive Council and Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Human Resources (SDHR), stressed that the workshop embodies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, which seeks to empower field-level administrative leaders and grant them the authority to serve the community with greater efficiency and faster response. He noted that SDHR remains committed to supporting this approach by providing specialised training programs and effective monitoring mechanisms, in line with Sharjah’s vision to build an advanced administrative system that enhances the quality of life and sustains development.
