This award reinforces the emirate’s longstanding commitment to supporting the Quran and Sunnah, instilling their values in new generations as guiding lights and fortresses of identity and ethical principles.
The 28th edition of the award covers multiple categories, including Quran memorisation across all age levels, Imams, Quranic tutors, mothers who have memorised the Quran, Quranic recitations, and excellence in recitation. The award also includes a category for the Sunnah, and accompanying activities such as recognising the best private Quranic centre in the emirate and awarding the best Quranic classes.
Participation criteria are carefully tailored to address the diversity of target groups. Citizens and residents of various ages are welcome to compete under strict regulations, some at the level of Sharjah emirate, some at the national level, and some specific to those enrolled in Quranic circles affiliated with the Establishment. Participants in the Sunnah category must adhere to the curricula approved by the Establishment, while dedicated categories are available for Imams, teachers, and Quranic tutors, alongside a special category for women under the “Mother Who Memorises the Quran” category.
All details regarding categories, participation rules, and mechanisms are available on the SNQSE's website. Registration is now open and will continue until 2 October 2025. Preliminary rounds are scheduled from 13 to 30 October, while the finals will be held from 17 to 27 November. Results will be announced on 11 December, allowing participants and centres ample time to prepare and ensuring broad participation that reflects the award’s prestige and leadership in the field.
This edition also introduces a new recitation category at the emirate level, reflecting the SNQSE's commitment to encouraging talented reciters and providing them with opportunities to showcase their abilities and strengthen their presence in Quranic sciences.
Sultan Matar Bin Delmok Al Ketbi, Chairman of the SNQSE, emphasised that the award represents one of the most prominent Quranic and scholarly platforms hosted by Sharjah since its establishment in 1997. He highlighted that the patronage and support of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah have contributed to expanding the award’s scope and developing its categories to encompass all age groups and educational levels, meeting community needs and enhancing the contributions of Quranic centres across the UAE.
He added that this edition continues a pioneering journey aimed at highlighting the status of Quran memorisers and students of the Sunnah, motivating Quranic institutions to further their efforts in serving the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet, and continuously updating the award, with permanent additions such as the newly introduced recitation category, which represents a qualitative enhancement.
Omar Al Shamsi, Director of the Sharjah Quran and Sunnah Establishment, noted that the award has become a landmark initiative in motivating young people to memorise and perfect Quranic recitation, refining their Tajweed skills, and deepening their connection to religious and cultural identity. He emphasised the SNQSE's efforts to ensure transparency in registration and nomination mechanisms, allowing Quranic centres and official entities to nominate participants, reflecting inclusivity and structured management of the competition.
Al Shamsi concluded by stressing that the award is more than just a competition; it is a comprehensive societal and civilisational project that embodies the vision of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah. The award places the Quran and Sunnah at the centre of human development, promotes moderation and balanced values, and prepares a generation with a strong sense of identity, capable of serving both their faith and their nation.
