Sharjah 24: His Excellency Mohammed Sultan Al Khasouni, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club, received a delegation from the UAE Archery Federation.

The meeting, held at the club's headquarters in Mleiha, was part of the club's commitment to strengthening sports cooperation and integrating national efforts to develop individual sports.

The delegation was headed by Engineer Hanadi Khalifa Al Kabouri, President of the Federation, and attended by Humaid Sabt Salmeen Al Shamsi, Vice President of the Federation; Hind Ibrahim Al Hosani, Secretary General of the Federation; Ali Mohammed bin Khatem Al Shamsi, member of the Board of Directors of the Archery Federation; Hamad Tamim Al Ketbi, member of the club's Board of Directors; and Humaid Abdullah Khasouni Al Ketbi, Supervisor of Individual Games at the Club.

Enhancing athletes participation worldwide

During the meeting, prospects for joint cooperation between the Federation and the club were discussed to develop archery and support its presence locally and internationally. This reflects a shared vision for empowering athletes and enhancing their participation in various forums. The meeting also highlighted the opportunities available to clubs to adopt this sport and hone the skills of promising talents.

Collaboration is key

In her speech, Engineer Hanadi Al Kabouri emphasised that the UAE Archery Federation places great importance on cooperation with sports clubs, as they are the primary partner in the success of the Federation's plans. She praised the preparations of the Mleiha Club and its logistical and technical capabilities, which pave the way for the implementation of specialised training programmes and workshops aimed at spreading the culture of this ancient sport among all age groups. She also noted the significant support that sports receive in the Emirate of Sharjah from His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, which forms the foundation for achieving accomplishments and championships.

Incubator for individual sports

For his part, Mohammed Sultan Al Khasouni welcomed the Federation delegation, appreciating the visit, which embodies the principle of effective partnership and continuous coordination between clubs and sports federations. He emphasised that the Mleiha Club continuously strives to develop its sports, social, and cultural programmes to serve the people of the region, and that opening up prospects for cooperation with the Archery Federation is a new step toward strengthening the club's position as an incubator for individual sports and a supporter of talent.

Integrating roles

The meeting also addressed the importance of working as a team and integrating roles between clubs and federations through the exchange of expertise and coordination of efforts to prepare new generations of athletes, in line with the National Sports Strategy, which focuses on investing in young talent and promoting ethical values on the field.

At the conclusion of the meeting, it was emphasised that communication and coordination will continue during the next phase to develop joint programmes, including launching training courses, organising local tournaments, and hosting training camps for national teams. It will also support the club in providing specialised technical personnel, thus enhancing the presence of archery and consolidating its position in the country.
