Sharjah 24: During the first half of 2025, the Sharjah Family Development implemented 47 quality programmes that benefited more than 1,880 beneficiaries from various community groups in the Emirate of Sharjah.

These programmes are part of strategic initiatives aimed at supporting the family in its comprehensive sense, through family education, psychological support, empowering marital relationships, enhancing community communication, and effectively reaching various segments of society.

These initiatives were implemented by specialists and experts from the UAE and the GCC countries, which possess high professional competencies and extensive experience in their fields.

Supporting spouses

The "Journey of a Lifetime" initiative focuses on empowering those about to get married and married couples to build stable marital relationships based on understanding and awareness, and enhancing family skills through educational and preventative programmes. This initiative included the "Marriage Journey: From Expectations to Reality" programme, which discussed the gap between perception and practice and highlighted the real challenges facing marital relationships.

The programme also included the "Marital Communication Skills" programme, which aimed to equip couples with the foundations of effective dialogue and enhance mutual understanding.

The programme "Foundations of Communication Between Spouses" presented the keys to a balanced life together. The programme also included the "Marital Crises: How Can We Turn Them into New Beginnings?" programme, which highlighted strategies for resolving marital crises and disputes. These programmes were implemented across four branches, totaling four programmes, and 129 beneficiaries.

Positive life changes

The "180 Degrees of Change" initiative targets individuals who aspire to make a positive change in their lives, whether personally or professionally, through self-development, positive thinking, and effective planning for the future. The initiative included a variety of programmes, most notably the "Journey of Change" programme, one of the most popular among beneficiaries, combining both in-person and virtual attendance.

The "Thrive After Retirement" programme discussed how to redirect life after retirement and invest time and resources in a positive way.

The "Emotional Intelligence" programme enabled participants to understand and manage their emotions effectively.

The "Discover Yourself and Invest in Your Capabilities" programme helped participants identify their strengths and build self-confidence.

The "Self-Development" programme was implemented within a practical training framework targeting youth.

Nine programmes were implemented within five branches, reaching 615 beneficiaries.

Youth in the loop

The "Let's Talk" initiative is one of the Foundation's ongoing initiatives targeting youth. It aims to promote family and community dialogue by addressing contemporary topics through interactive discussions and presenting inspiring real-life experiences that touch various segments of society.

The programmes implemented within this initiative varied and covered several issues, most notably the "Smart Devices: How They Change Family Relationships" programme, which reviewed the repercussions of excessive use of technology on family cohesion.

The "Life Taught Me" programme, which was implemented in multiple versions and included youth experiences that encouraged change and self-development, was also implemented. The "Sanaa in Emirati Society" programme, which targeted school students to instil authentic Emirati values in the hearts of young people, and the "Sharjah Youth: Dialogue and Communication" programme, which provided a space for youth to express ideas and discuss vital issues. The programme also included "Enhancing Self-Control Among Children," which focused on preventative education based on trust and dialogue. The "Your Decision Determines Your Future" programme helped students make informed and responsible future decisions. The programme also included the "Emotion Management and Self-Confidence" programme, and the "Family: Between Isolation and Communication" programme. The number of programmes within the "Let's Talk" initiative reached 20 programmes, implemented across all branches of the Foundation, benefiting 815 people.

Family stability

The Tawazun (balance) initiative seeks to support family stability by promoting balance between various aspects of life, particularly psychological and financial aspects, through specialised programmes that enable individuals to consciously deal with the pressures of daily life and manage their resources effectively.

The initiative included the "Financial Planning: From Goals to Implementation" programme, which focused on sound financial planning skills and setting clear and thoughtful family goals; the "Managing Professional Stress Without Interfering with Family Life" programme, which discussed ways to achieve balance between work and family demands and reduce the effects of stress associated with daily routines; the "Conscious Parenting" programme, which highlighted the importance of emotional understanding and psychological balance in raising children and promoting stability within the family; the "Family: Between Isolation and Connection" programme; and the "Managing Emotions and Self-Confidence" programme. The "Tawazun" initiative has implemented five programmes, distributed across four branches, benefiting 329 beneficiaries. These efforts come within the framework of the Sharjah Family Development vision for a cohesive family and a cohesive society, by providing a supportive and stimulating environment for social growth and community solidarity, and implementing quality and sustainable initiatives that professionally respond to the needs of all family members.
