Sharjah 24: Abdullah Saleh Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Khorfakkan Club for the Disabled, affirmed that the club is always keen to work according to a clear vision that reflects the great interest the wise leadership places in the sports sector and people with disabilities.

Unlimited support

Al Naqbi extended his deepest thanks and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his continuous and unlimited support, and to the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) for its generous initiatives and sponsorship, which have directly contributed to developing the players' capabilities and providing them with an ideal environment.

Exceptional sports season

Al Naqbi added that the club looks forward to an exceptional sports season that will consolidate the club's position as one of the most prominent clubs in the country. This came after the important meeting held on Monday by the Technical and Talented Affairs Committee at the Khorfakkan Club for the Disabled to discuss technical preparations and future plans in preparation for the launch of the new 2025-2026 sports season.

The meeting was chaired by Abdulaziz Ahmed Al Hammadi, Chairman of the Technical Affairs and Talented Affairs Committee, and attended by the club's technical and administrative staff.

The meeting reviewed the main axes for developing athletic performance and advancing various activities.

Assessment

Discussions included an assessment of current technical equipment, identifying the teams' maintenance and repair needs for various tools and equipment, and a plan to attract new, young players according to updated talent discovery criteria. This was accompanied by the provision of specialised training programmes and enhanced communication with parents to support the players' progress.

Developing training programmes

Dr. Louay Saeed Alai Al Naqbi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, emphasised that working with talented youth represents a fundamental pillar of future plans. He added that the club seeks to develop quality training programmes that meet the highest technical standards, believing that investing in these young talents will benefit the club and disabled sports in the UAE in general. This is in line with SSC commitment to nurturing talent and providing all means necessary to develop their capabilities and hone their skills.

For his part, Abdulaziz Ahmed Al Hammadi, Chairman of the Technical Affairs and Talent Care Committee, explained that during the meeting, all the details that ensure a strong start to the new season, from updating technical equipment and developing mechanisms for attracting talent, to developing more comprehensive training programmes were discussed. This will create a stimulating sporting environment that helps players excel and reach the podium.

The club also emphasises strengthening communication with parents, as they are essential partners in the club’s journey.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the committee submitted its recommendations to the club's Board of Directors to take the appropriate action regarding the implementation of the proposed plans and proposals.
