The exhibition took place at the Al Hamriyah Club as part of the Sharjah Sports Summer activities under the theme "Our Holiday is Different," in cooperation with the Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club and the Sharjah Sports Council.
The Public Health Department organized an engaging exhibition that showcased models of common insects and pests, along with easy-to-understand displays explaining their life cycles and how to control them. Attendees also had the chance to see the tools and safety equipment used in pest control.
Mohammed Sultan bin Hareb Al Muhairi, the head of the Public Health Department, played a key role in organizing the event alongside his team members, Nizar Haider and Al-Tahami Ahmed. The goal was to enhance the understanding of public health issues related to pests among participants from the Hamriyah Summer Forum, regardless of their age.
According to Al Muhairi, the exhibition aimed to introduce summer program participants to different types of pests, ways to prevent them, and how to minimize their presence. Pest control specialists also gave a clear presentation on the various insect species and shared eco-friendly pest control methods.
The event included interactive activities and Q&A sessions to keep attendees engaged and help reinforce their learning. By the end of the exhibition, students were selected to join the “Little Intellectual” program, which is designed to nurture a health-conscious generation that will contribute to future community awareness initiatives.
Al Muhairi also highlighted that the exhibition featured workshops led by experts from the Public Health Department and a 3D display of different public health pests to inform participants about their dangers. Overall, the event aimed to educate the community about avoiding pests and understanding the municipality's comprehensive pest-control programs.
This exhibition was a significant part of Al Hamriyah Municipality’s involvement in the summer activities, where all 150 participants from various age groups interacted with the displays, asked questions, and learned about innovative pest control solutions.
