The programme is part of the university's strategy to enhance undergraduate students’ experience by connecting them with community institutions and empowering them with media leadership skills.
This programme keeps pace with the transformations in the media labour market and reflects the university's vision as a world-class educational institution. The practical experience marked an important milestone in the students' professional careers. They showcased their achievements and field reports, which they completed in collaboration with 11 leading media and community organisations, including the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), Sharjah Media City (Shams), Sharjah Broadcasting Authority (SBA), Al Thiqa Club for the Disabled, Sharjah Municipality, Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH), Sharjah Cooperative Society, Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ajman Government Media Bureau, the Continuing Education Centre, and the Media Centre at Al Qasimia University.
The students participating in the programme expressed their appreciation for this field experience, which provided them with a real opportunity to apply their academic skills in a realistic environment, under the supervision of specialists and experts in the media field.
Professor Dr Awad Al Khalaf, Chancellor of AQU, emphasised that the programme reflects the university's commitment to implementing advanced educational policies that keep pace with professional changes and enhance students' readiness to enter the labour market. He pointed out that field training constitutes a fundamental pillar of the university education system.
Al Khalaf added that the university relies on the integration of academic training and practical application to create media professionals capable of making a qualitative contribution to the development of the media landscape in their countries. The university attracts students from more than 130 nationalities from around the world, in line with the university's vision of preparing academically and professionally qualified graduates.
Professor Dr Hisham Abbas Zakaria, Dean of the College, explained that the programme's success reflects the confidence of media and community institutions in the competence of the college's students and the quality of its graduates. He emphasised the college's commitment to providing quality training opportunities that enable students to translate their academic knowledge into practical experience, qualifying them to excel in the media labour market.
The Dean of the College praised the fruitful cooperation with media and government partner institutions and the highly efficient training programs they provided, which contributed to preparing and qualifying students professionally before graduation.
