The two guests were briefed on the scientific and practical methods used to preserve historical documents and rare manuscripts.
The visit included an introductory tour of the "In the Shade of the Palm Tree: Heritage and Story" exhibition, which highlights the importance of palm trees in Arab culture and its vital role in human and social life. Several Arab countries participated, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman, and Egypt. Each country showcased aspects of its heritage associated with the palm tree.
During the meeting, Dr. Abdulaziz Al Musallam emphasised the importance of these visits in building bridges of cultural and intellectual cooperation, noting that the Institute welcomes all initiatives aimed at enhancing the preservation of shared cultural heritage and contributing to the exchange of expertise and research to preserve identity and heritage.
His Excellency also explained that SIH attaches great importance to the preservation of manuscripts and documents as an authentic source of knowledge, and is constantly working to develop its technical and human capabilities in this field, in cooperation with local and international partners.
Mufti Muhammad Ashfaq Kazi and Dr. Saif Al Badawi expressed their happiness with this visit and the knowledge and insight they gained during it regarding the unique efforts in the field of heritage. They emphasised that these initiatives enhance the depth of cultural relations between peoples and open broad horizons for future cooperation.
