Al Musallam visits the Bin Majid Society for Local Art in RAK

Sharjah 24: As part of his commitment to supporting cultural heritage institutions, His Excellency Dr Abdul Aziz Al Musallam, Chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, accompanied by a delegation from the Institute, made a field visit to the Bin Majid Society for Local Art in Ras Al Khaimah on Wednesday. He was received by Nasser Hassan Al Kass, President of the Society, and members of the Board of Directors, in the presence of His Excellency Mohammed Ghanem, Chairman of the Ras Al Khaimah Broadcasting Authority.

Enhancing cooperation in heritage preservation

The visit aimed to enhance cooperation between cultural entities concerned with heritage preservation and to review the Association's achievements in preserving folk arts and maritime heritage, which is an integral part of Emirati identity.

The delegation toured the Association's facilities, including the museum and archaeological collections documenting the emirate's maritime history, and reviewed the activities and initiatives that enhance the presence of folk arts in the community.

Appreciating the heritage society's role

Dr Al-Musallam praised the Society's vital role in documenting intangible heritage, emphasising the importance of national partnerships in supporting cultural efforts and highlighting Emirati heritage at the local and international levels.
